Identify which control is in use

A wall switch, handheld remote and app may be different interfaces to the same appliance, but their available functions are model-specific. Heat & Glo, for example, publishes separate guidance for several control families. Use the instructions matching your equipment rather than a visually similar remote.

Record the mode already displayed

Write down the visible mode, temperature setting, timer indication or error message without changing settings to provoke a result. Mention whether the appliance stopped at an expected temperature or behaved differently from its usual pattern. A single observation is useful; it does not prove that a control or sensor is defective.

Separate identification from repair

Do not bypass a switch, jumper wiring, reconfigure internal controls or use a generic reset sequence. If ordinary owner instructions do not explain the behavior, leave the appliance off and request service. An unexplained shutdown should not be normalized merely because the fireplace starts again after another button press.

Send a concise control history

Include the appliance model, control model, when the issue started and any recent battery or power changes. Mention whether several controls are present. This helps Boca Chimney Group understand the booking request while leaving component diagnosis for the assessment.
