Look for a kit, not just a color

A bag described as suitable for gas fire features does not identify your fireplace. Use the model and serial number to find the approved accessory list. The list may specify particular media, sizes, quantities and optional panels. Ask the supplier to identify the actual kit number on the quote.

Why placement is part of the service

The manufacturer's drawings can reserve openings around the pilot or burner for proper ignition and airflow. A different size or extra depth can change where pieces fall. Leave the sealed glass and burner assembly in place. Have a qualified provider confirm the approved arrangement before changing anything inside.

Plan the look with the unit cold

A sample under a showroom light may look different against the existing panel when the fireplace is off. Compare samples outside the appliance with the manufacturer's product photos. If no compatible kit is listed, consider changing the removable exterior finish within its approved limits instead.
