Start with the last known working arrangement
A photo from the old listing or from the finish contractor may show the original front and the gap around it. Compare that picture with the room now. Note which piece is difficult to open or which instruction you can no longer carry out. Do not force a door or remove a sealed panel to demonstrate it.
Separate the finish defect from an appliance fault
For example, a newly installed stone return can stop the decorative front halfway through its normal movement. A new control module will not free that front. Conversely, trimming stone may gain access without addressing an independent fault reported before the remodel. Ask for one finding about access and a separate finding about operation. Have the proposed sequence say when the service provider can assess the appliance and what additional finish work depends on that result.
Review the markup before anyone cuts
On a front elevation, mark the trapped corner or opening and the direction the original part should travel. Add a side view showing the finished surface thickness. If the front has to lift before moving toward the room, a clear gap beneath it does not prove it can be removed. A description of the restriction is enough for booking. Avoid prying or loosening fasteners against newly installed material.
Identify the service boundary
A fireplace technician may be able to assess a control while a separate finish contractor is needed to restore access. Ask what can be evaluated with the room as it stands. Some manufacturer drawings reserve an opening for access and prohibit overlaps even with material that does not burn.
Reconnect the finding to the remodel file
Parkland's Building Department directs users to My Government Online and notes that the old Trakit system is no longer available. Use the city's current route if the responsible contractor needs to revise a previously reviewed detail. A revision to retrieve working access and a diagnosis of the gas appliance should remain separate items in the closeout record.
Ask for one closeout detail from each trade
Have the finish provider identify which material was changed and the appliance provider identify which front, outlet or control can now be reached. If an independent operating problem remains, ask for the diagnostic or part recommendation in a separate line, so access restored does not become recorded as appliance repaired.
