Distinguish three different proposals

A circulating blower helps move warmed room air at the fireplace. A passive system lets warm air leave through designated openings. Some fireplaces accept a separate distribution kit for moving part of that heat elsewhere. Heat & Glo lists different options by product. One model's accessory is not an upgrade for every fireplace.

Draw the destination before shopping for parts

Mark the room you hope to warm, the proposed outlet and the space available for a route between them. Ask whether the exact appliance supports that route and whether access exists after finishes are installed. This heat distribution path is separate from the vent that carries combustion products outdoors.

Compare controls and work outside the fireplace

Have the provider describe which controls operate the kit, where any outlet will be visible and which wall or ceiling surfaces must be opened. Keep an estimate for a replacement fireplace separate from one for an accessory. Do not promise heating performance for a second room based on a showroom display.
